World Cup 2010: You First Foundation support UNICEF proposal

You First Foundation backs up UNICEF project to help ensure that the most vulnerable members of the society are safeguarded from violence, abuse and sexual exploitation. Information about child trafficking, child labour and other forms of child exploitation and tips on keeping children safe - with useful telephone numbers - will be conveyed through a Red Card contact. MXit users will be able to add these numbers to their contact list for easy access to vital safety information should they be in need of urgent help.
“A large proportion of MXit users are between 15 and 25, which makes it the perfect partner for this important initiative. Through the Red Card contact, children and young people will be able to access information that is key to their safety, quickly and free of charge,” added Ms. Girma.
The Red Card contact launch coincides with Child Protection Week 2010, which takes place from 24 May to 1 June. MXit users – who currently number about 20 million – will also be able to download UNICEF and Red Card skinz and wallpapers to their phones to show their support for child protection. The contact will be promoted to users through splash advertisements and Tradepost broadcast messages.
“The safety of young people and responsible use of social media is very important to us. As always, we advise parents to talk to their children and to discuss the benefits and potential risks of using the internet, especially in the mobile space. In this regard, we encourage all our users to add the Red Card as a contact,” says Herman Heunis, CEO and founder of MXit.

Let’s Give the Red Card to Child Exploitation
The Red Card seeks to help children and young people stay safe – whether they are walking home from school, going out to watch soccer games or surfing chat rooms. Each year, tens of thousands of children in South Africa and around the world are exploited through child labour, commercial sexual exploitation, child trafficking and child pornography.
Due to concerns about increased child exploitation during the World Cup, UNICEF is working in partnership with the government of South Africa, civil society and the private sector to enhance and strengthen child protection systems in the country. These efforts include a national advocacy campaign under the banner of ‘Give The Red Card to Child Abuse and Exploitation’ which aims to increase understanding of the potential risks of child exploitation and abuse. The red card – a familiar football warning – was first adapted by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) as a symbol against child labour. UNICEF and its partners have adopted the card as a symbol of the national advocacy campaign, elements of which will be visible through the MXit contact.
In addition to the MXit Red Card information, hundreds of thousands of red card posters, leaflets, tent cards and ‘little red cards’ will be distributed around South Africa from the end of May, targeting children, parents, communities and visitors to the country, reducing the possibility of children being harmed.

Next generation advocacy through social networks
MXit is a global mobile instant messenger and social network. It allows users to chat on their mobile phones or computers anywhere in the world. MXit first introduced mobile instant messaging to South Africa in 2005. It started as a mobile game developer and evolved into a mobile instant messaging company, allowing its users to send messages at a fraction of the cost of traditional SMS.
UNICEF South Africa also has a dedicated website and Facebook page, which are updated regularly with news and resources. Look us up on www.unicef.org/southafrica or add UNICEF South Africa as a friend to learn more about the Red Card campaign and key programme priorities.

January 2010: A massive earthquake has caused devastation across Haiti with tens of thousands of people feared dead. In response to this, our company and his foundation, You First Foundation, has decided to take the initiative to help diminish the effects this catastrophe. After being contacted by many Non Governmental Organizations we have decided to collaborate with PLAN Foundation.

About PLAN?
Founded over 70 years ago, Plan is one of the oldest and largest children's development organizations in the world. We work in 48 developing countries across Africa, Asia and the Americas to promote child rights and lift millions of children out of poverty. Plan works with more than 3,500,000 families and their communities each year. Plan is independent, with no religious, political or governmental affiliations.

PLAN in Haití
Plan has already raised more than US$1,000,000 in emergency funds and is on the ground to help the survivors of Haiti's devastating earthquake. But much more is needed. Plan staff reported widespread panic when the 7.0 magnitude quake and 2 strong aftershocks struck. It is the most powerful earthquake to have hit the island of Hispaniola in 200 years. Right now, extra Plan disaster response specialists are arriving in Haiti. So far, it has been reported that up to 3,000,000 people have been affected by the earthquake.

The objective of the 21st French player of all time in prize money, but which is considered before very “ an impassioned amateur”, is obviously to gain one soon titrate on the circuit.
For Eric Larchevêque, "poker and business world are very close: in these two fields, you need a very good strategic approach, an iron discipline and a patience with any test!".
The Team U1st Poker has realized a superb result during the Irish Open, which was held in Dublin from the 10 at April 13, 2009, with Pascal Perrault who finished 64th (4,000€) and especially with the great 18th place of Lise Vigezzi with 17,900 € of gains.

With 700 players at the beginning, this “traditional” of the European tournaments (whose 1st edition took place in 1980), thus made it possible to “Pink Lady” (which defended the colors of Poker 770) to develop during three days a very beautiful poker and to show that she was without any doubt one of the best players of the hexagon.

Lise was eliminated in 18th position whereas she was in televised table. One of its adversaries having raised again preflop, Lise then said the whole ALL IN, with As of Square and 8 of Peak. She was slightly favorite before the flop compared to its adversary who had Ace of Heart and / 6 of Clover. But the board did not favour Lise because it brought a pair of 6 to its adversary!

One of the hand marking for Lise lasting this Irish Open was held with the blinds 4000/8000, a first player raised to 18.000 then another player raised again to approximately 50.000. Lise then decided to make All In for 70.000 and the two raisers followed it! With its pair of 10, she was not then favorite at all faces with the pairs of Ace and Kings of its adversaries, but the appearance of the 10 in the flop enabled her to touch its three of kind and to triple its stack.

Next tournament for the members of the Team U1st Poker: EPT of San Remo, the 18 at April 23, 2009 (Italy).

Initiate by François Tardieu (one of the best players in these two disciplines), he discovers Texas Hold'em in 2007 and imposes itself quickly like a rising value of the French Poker. Its qualities - an excellent memory and an acute direction of the behavior of its adversaries in particular - make him a very powerful player quickly of it. Its 6th place finish at the Partouche Poker Tour in Cannes in September 2008 is the perfect illustration.
« Jean-Philippe Rohr is a competitor. With Its history and its talent, it’s a player with enormous talent and unlimited potential. He has amassed over 230.000 $ in career tournament earnings. Jean-Philippe will take part these next weeks in the EPT of San Remo and Monaco, in the WPT of Venice and in the WSOP in Las Vegas in July.

"The foundations have been laid for a successful Spanish Open”. This was the unanimous opinion of the representatives of all parties involved in the organization of the 2009 Spanish Open. The event will take place in PGA Golf Catalonia (Gerona) from April 30 to May 3 sponsored by Reale Seguros, Turespaña, Turisme de Catalunya, Patronat de Turisme Costa Brava Girona and Ajuntament de Girona who have joined forces with the RFEG Sponsors Club led by Reale Seguros - which also includes Adecco, Avis, Lacoste, OKI, and Mahou – as well as other contributors. This important European Tour event will be made possible thanks to their support.
During the official tournament presentation to the media, The President of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation, Gonzaga Escauriaza, assured "this will be a great Open because both the course and the setting are wonderful". Gonzaga Escauriaza stressed that the Spanish Open “is a prestigious tornament, the second oldest in Europe and consequently deserves a great course as its venue. It is a big challenge to play PGA Catalunya. Although Sergio Garcia will unfortunately be unable to attend due to personal agenda reasons, excellent participation to the tournament is expected.”

The involvement of all the sponsors and collaborators was highly valued by the President of the RSGF. “Without their contribution, he said, it would be impossible to get this kind of tournament off the ground, and even more so under the present circumstances; maintaining two million dollar prizes in our days is really something worth mentioning.” Following which, he referred to the support provided by Reale Seguros – “our relationship with Reale Seguros is like a long-lasting old fashioned marriage” – and by the all the other sponsors.

Antonio Viñuela, Chief Executive Officer at Reale Seguros, reaffirmed his commitment both with the RSGF and the Spanish Open: "We hope to go on contributing for many more years to this initiative, as well as to others that mean much to us, such as the sponsoring of Adaptive Golf Schools."

Bruno Senna has written his name into the history books by claiming victory in race one today in Monaco, holding on despite race long pressure from Pastor Maldonado to take the win, with teammate Karun Chandhok joining the pair on the podium after Mike Conway was tapped into a spin on the final lap.
The victory was set up at the start when the Venezuelan made a slow start while his rival got away perfectly, slotting in front into Ste Devote for a lead that he would hold for the remainder of the race bar one lap for pitstops, while Maldonado forcefully closed the door on Conway as they headed up the hill ahead of Adrian Valles, Karun Chandhok, Romain Grosjean and Giorgio Pantano.
With no one in front of him Senna reeled off a string of fastest laps, and Maldonado was the only man able to deal with his pace as the pair left the rest of the field standing, who had to resort to a variety of different pit strategies and hope for the best. But when the lead pair came in a lap apart, with Senna first on lap 20, any chance of a miracle seemed to have evaporated.
But then the mayhem came. Buemi stuck his nose inside Pantano at Mirabeau, a position into which it had no right to be: the pair collided and Pantano was spun around and stopped, with Buemi retiring almost immediately after losing his rear wing, while Grosjean and Ho-Pin Tung also came together, with the Frenchman breaking his suspension for his troubles. The resultant traffic jam blocked the circuit: Senna and Maldonado were somehow able to thread the needle when they came back around, while everyone else had to try and find their own way through the mess.
It brought the battle for the lead to a fever pitch, with the pair swapping fastest laps as they pushed each other to the limit and beyond while the pitlane held its collective breath and waited. And at the end it was Senna who came out on top, taking the win by just 0.6 seconds from Maldonado along with the fastest lap of the race, while Conway lost a well deserved third on the last lap when he was tapped into a spin at the chicane by Javier Villa, who was a lap down after the earlier melee.
The spin handed a podium finish to Chandhok, who survived his own fierce battle with Valles to take the spot, ahead of Alvaro Parente, Roldan Rodriguez, Ho-Pin Tung and Conway, who claimed the final points position and tomorrow's pole as everyone else had lost a lap in the confusion at Mirabeau. But back in the pitlane all eyes were on Senna, whose chest filled with pride as the Brazilian national anthem was played before he was allowed to drench his team in champagne.

Fourth place for Adrián Vallés

Pastor Maldonado has repeated his triumphs of last year by claiming pole in Monaco once again, taking the top spot in this afternoon's qualifying session despite constant pressure from Bruno Senna and Mike Conway.

Maldonado's best lap of 1:21.057 was set halfway through the session, putting himself at the head of the timesheets despite touching the wall on entry to the tunnel: his rivals pushed hard to match the Venezuelan's time but just missed out, with a red flag in the closing stages of the session putting paid to their efforts.

Once again Maldonado was the first man on track, with Andy Soucek just behind him: the latter was soon to regret his haste as he collected the wall at St Devote. The Venezuelan pushed a little too hard at the same corner next time by, but managed to stay off the barriers and find his way back on track with the help of the marshals.

Romain Grosjean, Adrian Valles and Senna set the early pace as everyone tried to find a way through the traffic, a task which was made a little more difficult when Ho-Pin Tung ran too hot through the swimming pool complex and lost the rear of his car at the exit, with Marcello Puglisi also going through Casino square too fast and finding out the hard way just how close the barriers are at this circuit.

But when most of the field came in for new tyres Maldonado struck, setting two fast laps and giving his competitors a target to aim for: Valles was in fourth place and looking for more but just caught the barriers at St Devote, which pitched him into a spin and the wall on the other side of the track, prompting an immediate red flag. With just three minutes remaining it was unlikely that anyone would improve their times when the circuit reopened, and so it proved.

Just behind the top three Valles managed to hold on to fourth position despite his accident, just ahead of Giorgio Pantano, Karun Chandhok, Romain Grosjean and Sébastien Buemi, with the first 14 drivers covered by just one second despite the usual traffic woes. With so many drivers this close on the timesheets, tomorrow's race promises to be a race not to be missed.

Peter Lawrie parred the second playoff hole to win the Spanish Open on Sunday after Ignacio Garrido's approach shot rolled into the water.
Garrido (72) forced the playoff after a birdie on the 18th hole to finish at 15-under 273. Lawrie shot a 5-under 67. "I'm not a party person, but I will enjoy this," the 34-year-old Irishman said after his first European Tour win in 175 attempts.
Both players birdied the first playoff hole. "It just feels unbelievable, I'm lost for words," Lawrie added. "I thought I'd had it won and was telling my caddie Dermott to pack up because we have to catch a plane, when he (Garrido) holed that last putt."

Vallés's retreat in Bahrain for break of the engine

The penultimate test of the GP2 Asia Series has come to the end after the dispute of the race of this morning and the balance has not been very satisfactory for Adrián Vallés. After the fifth position obtained yesterday, the pilot of Fisichella Motor International Sport was dividing from the fourth position of the gridiron of exit with the hope that the problems suffered in yesterday in the engine of his car had been solved. Nevertheless, unlike yesterday, the Valencian pilot in this occasion could not have finished the race for the break of the engine.
The last race in Sakhir's circuit began with falls of important pilots, since Bruno Senna could not take the exit as a few electrical problems, and in the first curve of the circuit Chandhok and Nunes they touched each other provoking the abandon of the Indian in the second return. Vallés's good exit allowed him to place in the third position together with Petrov, Kobayashi and followed by Buemi and this way there was kept this quartet that was fighting for the podium until the Spanish pilot began to suffer problems with the gearbox and was advanced by Buemi. The problems for Vallés were in increase and the break of the engine provoked his retreat. For his part the leader, the Frenchman Grosjean, began to have problems with the brakes until finally he had to retire. In spite of not ending, Grosjean champion of the GP2 has proclaimed Asia Series since for lack of the dispute of the last race of the season, next weekend in Dubai, the Frenchman surpasses in 20 points Petrov, an already unattainable difference. In the last race there will live an exciting dispute of six pilots for the subchampionship of the GP2 Through Asia Series, between them Adrián Vallés. For the pilot of Teulada " it has been a shame not be able to have overcome the problems with the engine. I was meeting many confidence, was rolling well, between the first positions and it it is the positive thing that I take to myself of my weekend in Bahrain. When the car has allowed it to me I have been fighting at all time for a position in the podium, which gives me confidence of face both to the next race and to the following competition. Now have already the mind in Dubai, where I expect to be able to do a good performance that allows me to fight for the subchampionship ".

Sweet and sour day for Adrián Vallés in Bahrain, where he has finished in fifth position in the race that has been disputed this evening in the Asian Circuit and that there has returned to gain the leader, the Frenchman Grosjean, who with this victory consolidates his position at the head of the general classification. The pilot of Fisichella Motor International Sport realized a great exit that allowed him to place in the first position to the instant.
After leading the first returns, it was advanced by Grosjean but one supported in the second position up to the return 15, when he began to have problems with the engine, a few problems that were making lose more than 12 kilometres to him per hour in the principal straight line of more than one kilometre of length. From this moment, the Valencian pilot saw since in these straight lines the pilots were advancing him and he had to conform to the fifth final position what has allowed him to add 4 points with a view to the general classification. Vallés has declared that he felt " a bit frustrated. It has been a very hard race, he was in the second position and though Grosjean was far, second could have finished if he had not had this problem with the engine that was making me lose speed. It has been frustrating to see the pilots were happening to me and I could not do anything and I have had to be grateful that the race has not been longer since if not, surely, more pilots would have advanced me and I might not have added points for the general ".
