
With the participation of U1st Sports as an organizer of the race, the town of San Carlos de Bariloche welcomed competitors from all over the world as the highly anticipated PKRA tour stop finally made its debut after months of preparation and organization. The competition brings together 78 riders from 20 countries.
On the first day, despite the unpredictability of the weather and the cold temperature (6 °C.), the wind began to rise (41 km W.. / H) to four in the afternoon allowing two races to be developed the race mode. A few racers struggled with the frigid 6°C water temperature and were not able to finish the first race of the day, however that did not stop Californian sunny boy John Heineken who finished with a huge lead in both races. In the women’s division, French rider Caroline Adrien was no stranger to the cold water finishing first in both races.
Yesterday Australian rider Andy Yates was the winner in the Freestyle Single Elimination. In the women’s division, Spanish rider Gisela Pulido proved that she wasn’t going to let difficult weather conditions slow her down. Pulido is well on her way to winning the 2010 world title by winning yet another event title this season defeating Polish superstar Karolina Winkowska who takes second place in the women’s final heat.
