Two late goals from Nabil Baha and Pantelis Kafes sealed a 3-0 victory for AEK Athens over Atromitos in the Greek Cup final. The tension in the stands was reflected on the pitch, as both teams found it hard to establish a foothold in the game, until Nikos Liberopolous broke the deadlock with a header from Nacho Scocco’s cross in the 28th minute. Scocco was soon replaced by Baha in the 37th minute due to injury, and the substitue went on to seal the victory in the 78th minute when he finished inside the six yard box after a deflected cross by Panagiotis Lagos.
Manolo Jimenez's team put the icing on the cakse five minutes from time and Lagos again supplied the assists, slipping in Kafes who lobbed the goalkeeper to seal the cup for the Enosis and in the process, put an end to their nine-year wait for a trophy.
