Arecibo handed fourth straight loss to Guaynabo. They beat them on the road 71-86 winning the Semifinals with almost perfect 4-1. Of course Arecibo advanced to BSN Finals and now will wait for the winner of Bayamon - Quebradillas series.
The game was mostly controlled by Capitanes. Mets managed to win second period 22-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Capitanes looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The former international center Daniel Santiago orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. International guard Larry Ayuso contributed with 23 points for the winners, Guillermo Diaz scored 13 pts, 3 reb and 3 asist and Andres Rodriguez (image) 7 pts, 5 reb and 6 asist. Capitanes' coach David Rosario used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international swingman Angel Luis Figueroa answered with 22 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Ricardo Dalmau (188-77) added 14 points in the effort for Mets.
