The Brazilian Olympic Committee has announced, as it does every year, the list of best players of each Olympic sports in Brazil. In the section on best basketball player the winner has been the guard Marcelinho Huertas, who led this year's national team to a silver medal in the FIBA Tournament of the Americas, also getting a ticket to play the Olympics next year in London. Moreover, in the tournament, the player represented by You First Sports was recognized as the best guard and iwas part of the all tournament team. Huertas was chosen by a jury composed of journalists, coaches, former players and other sports personalities.
In a statement obtained by the Brazilian Confederation of Basketball (CCB), Huertas has said he feels "a great joy, because this is a very important award in the context of sport in Brazil, where few athletes have the opportunity to win and form part of this select group, makes me very happy. I have to thank my fellow selection and the coaching staff, without whom this would not be possible".
