Sevilla coach, Manolo Jimenez, declared himself pleased with his side's "complete" victory over Espanyol this evening.
The Andalucian team scored twice through Freddy Kanoute, and Jimenez told Marca that with the amount of chances they had, it would have been regretful had they not won.
"I believe it has been a very complete performance from the team against an opponent who played a lot and has pressed us hard," he mused.
"It was one-sided and we dominated at times. We had many chances, hit the post twice and [Carlos] Kameni made great saves. If we had not scored, we would be regretting it now."
Certainly had Sevilla not won it would have been thanks to Kameni, who was on top form in the Espanyol goal all night.
The sending off of Lola seemed to turn the game in the favour of the away side though, and Jimenez praised both him and his own side.
"At many times in the game we seemed like the home side. We dominated the middle of the pitch," he opined.
"He [Lola] was doing some great defensive work. At the break the coach put [Ivan] de la Pena to get more possession, but they lost the link between the defence and the midfield, and they paid for it."
