Khimki Basketball Club has signed Carlos Delfino today for the next three seasons. The signature took place at the Madrid U1st’s office. Present were Viktor Bychkov, Khimki CEO, Carlos Delfino himself, Angel Cerisola, U1st Sports Buenos Aires basketball agent and Alessandro Barbalich, Basket Manager for U1st Moscow.
Delfino and Bychkov were really excited about this agreement. However Delfino can’t make the official presentation until September 10th since he will be participating with the Argentinean National Team at the Olympics Games.
“I am so excited about returning to play in Europe ” says Delfino. ”It was a dream come true to be able to play in the NBA and my future there is not over. Right now I obviously have my mind on the Olympics but I’m extremely excited about my new life in Khimki. This team has really believed in me. Already last Winter they showed a great interest in signing me on and by the end of my NBA season they negociated the different options with my agents and to tell you the truth I didn’t doubt it for even one second. We are going to give the Russian League and Europen competitions all we have”.
According to Byschkov “we have in Delfino a true star. We had wanted to sign him on for a really long time and as soon as we saw the chance we went for it! Having him with us opens up many new title opportunities for the team. We only had great references about him, specially from Rubén Wolkowisky, so we jumped at the opportunity of having him join us. I don’t think he’ll have any problems adapting to the team or the city”.
