The 20-years old Christian Eyenga will stay in Badalona for 3 more seasons. As DKV Joventut announced yesterday, the team from Badalona (Spain) has agreed on a 3 years contract with the Congolese player. Eyenga, who was drafted by Cleveland Cavaliers (nº 30), displayed an outstanding upside with his performance at the Las Vegas Summer League. The Congolese player announced that “it has been an emotional roller coaster since draft night June 25th. I’m very excited and proud to have been drafted in the NBA and specially by Cleveland Cavaliers. I’m committed to them and I am grateful for all that Cleveland has done to prove to me that they really wanted me. The welcome in Cleveland was amazing and I have had the opportunity to start knowing the NBA from within”.
After the Joventut press release, Eyenga is “certain that my family and the Cavaliers will support my determination in trying to do the right thing to better prepare myself as a high level professional athlete. I know that I’m bypassing and sacrificing an amazing income in the NBA given MY humble background of just two years ago in Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo) when Joventut believed in taking a chance on me to Spain”. Eyenga would like to thank all the expressions of support that he has received in the last months.
