Sitapha Savane will stay with Gran Canaria team at least two more years. He is a member of the Canarian team since 2004, when he moved from Tenerife. Last season Savane had important role in the squad. In ACB he appeared 35 times averaging 9.2 ppg, 4.7 rpg and 1.1 bpg. He was fifth shot blocker of the league at the end. Granca also participated in FIBA EuroCup, where Savane added 5.5 ppg and 4.9 rpg in 8 games. Season 2005/06 was the best for Savane on the island. On that one he had 13.9 ppg and 5.8 rpg in ACB.
Before arrival to Gran Canaria, Savane played 3 years for Tenerife in LEB1. They earned promotion to ACB in 2003, spending there 2003/2004 season. Season 2000/2001 Savane played for Menorca, also in LEB1. The player graduated U.S. Naval Academy in 2000. He had 16.9 ppg and 7.2 rpg in senior season.
Until 2007 Savane was standard member of Senegalese National Team. With them he participated at the World Championship 2006 in Japan averaging 8.6 ppg and 3.6 rpg in 5 games.
